35 mm film

The most common application of Vlads Test Target is to use it as a strip of frames. The strip of film is placed in the film holder and then all tuning operations are performed. The length of the strip is mostly dictated by the length of the film path in the holder. Say Valoi 135 or vintage Nikon PB4 have short film path and three-frame strip works just fine. Negative Supply's Basic Carrier, Lomography Digitaliza+ require at least five-frame strips. That’s is just enough to place middle frame in the center of the carrier.
